I began writing by creating short stories for my children in 1973 and country song lyrics in 1978. I added Cowboy Poetry writing in 2000 and recorded one CD in 2006 with my friend and partner Jim Rose doing the music and vocals.
I am retired from a sales career and live in Aurora, Oregon with my wife Betty. We have a daughter Tara Jo, a son Shelby and nine grandchildren. I graduated from high school in 1965, served three years in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. After my military service, I attended college and graduated from Portland State University in 1974. My wife and I have a Christian Ministry funded with the proceeds from my writing.
I am fortunate to have grown up in the era when Cowboys were heroes to many children and adults. I grew up on a farm with horses and spent many days riding around the countryside like John Wayne, Randolph Scott, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, The Lone Ranger, and other western stars. To this day, westerns are my favorite movies and thanks to modern technology, I still watch the movies of my youth.
I look forward to being able to create and write additional western adventures that readers will enjoy.
